Are you drinking enough water?
In this article we found on WebMD (our usual trusty source), it explains the benefits of drinking water.
It says that water keeps every part of your body working properly. It helps your body flush wastes and stay at the right temperature. It can help prevent kidney stones and constipation.
You lose water throughout the day-through your breath, sweat, urine, and bowel movements. You need to replace this lost fluid to stay healthy. If you don’t get enough water, you could become dehydrated. If you get very dehydrated, your body no longer has enough fluid to get blood to your organs. This is dangerous (WebMD).
Any liquid helps prevent dehydration, actually. Water is just the cheapest and healthiest option as you can use tap water and it has no calories or sugars. If you’re someone that doesn’t like water, you can try juices or even watered down juices. You could even get those healthy(ish) powders that you can add to water for flavor.
In terms of how much water or liquids to consume a day, about 6-8 8-ounce glasses is about what you should be consuming on a daily basis.
Remember-you can easily tell from the color of your urine if you’re drinking enough!
